US Defence Agency Awards Multi-Billion-Dollar Medical Supply Contracts

On 27 October, the US Defense Logistics Agency announced medical-surgical supply contracts involving Cardinal Health and McKesson. The North Primary contract awarded to Cardinal Health has a maximum value of approximately $8.84 billion, while McKesson’s South Primary contract has a ceiling of approximately $4.37 billion. These are contract ceilings for future supply orders, not immediate payments. The awards create opportunities for medical distributors, logistics providers and supply-chain consultants.
